Contradictions of the Bible | Introduction

I stand strong in my disbelief of a deity that created everything in the universe. I can even remember as a little kid, we would go to church every once in a while, and none of it ever made sense to me. Even when I was still in elementary school, before I even knew what an atheist was, or even knew that there were people who didn't believe in 'God', I remember thinking to myself, why is it that we have to go to church to support 'Him'. If he supposedly knows everyone and everything, and has created a predetermined path called fate that everyone is to follow unknowingly, why do people have to gather weekly in a building to show there belief is real? Wouldn't 'God' know if they believed in him?

A few years ago, I remember hearing an analogy somewhere that ultimately proved to me how religion takes control of billions of people worldwide. All you have to do is look back at the polygamist ordeal that went on in Texas not too long ago. The news showed all these kids being rescued from their pedophile cult leader, and all the kids wanted was to go back. They didn't like the outside world, because they didn't know anything else existed. They were conditioned from the day they were born to believe what was happening to them was the right thing.

If you were to take a few newborns and keep them inside a community for the early years of their life, you could train them to think anything was right. You could convince them that The Wizard of Oz is a book to be taken literal and that Oz was a god, and for the rest of their lives, anybody trying to contradict their beliefs would sound absurd to them.

Here we will look at many of the contradictions of the bible, as well as other religious books. If you enjoy what you read, and would like to keep updated with new posts, please subscribe to or follow this blog. If you have any questions, or would like to discuss, please use the comments!
